The Alabama Chapter of APCO is holding a Fall Workshop at the Island House Hotel in Orange Beach on October 26-28. Tina Chaffin will be the keynote speaker. Other presenters include Dan Wright, Jeanie Pharis, Michelle Peel, Samantha Sanders & Joseph Sivley, and Robert VanHooser. The seventh cycle of the Alabama 9-1-1 Board Grant Program is now open and accepting applications.
The overall goal of the Grant Program is to provide financial assistance to Emergency Communication Districts (ECDs) based on demonstrated need(s) in compliance with §11-98 et seq. of the Code of Alabama 1975, as amended. The purpose is to fund non-recurring costs necessary to achieve or maintain continuity and enhancement of 9-1-1 assuring that every location in Alabama has equitable access to 9-1-1 service.
Each year, the Alabama 9-1-1 Board is required to submit a training report to both houses of the Alabama legislature. You can download this year's reports below.

Since initially posting these, 911.gov has developed a four-part Telecommunicator Job Reclassification Toolkit designed to help Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs) address the changes the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) needs to see to reclassify telecommunicators.

The sixth cycle of the Alabama 9-1-1 Board Grant Program is now open and accepting applications.
The Alabama 9-1-1 Board is seeking proposals from qualified vendors of Next Generation 9-1-1 GIS services whose proposed solution(s) and services meet the requirements specified in this RFP. The expectation is that the vendor will supply a GIS services solution to the State of Alabama or any geographical area within. This GIS services solution must seamlessly function within the existing NG9-1-1 services platform, the Alabama Next Generation Emergency Network (ANGEN).
