Evelyn Causey is currently President / COO of Hayneville Telephone Company and Camellia Communications which serve Lowndes and Butler Counties. After attending Troy University where she earned a degree in Business Administration, Evelyn worked in the residential mortgage industry gaining a great deal insight into the finance industry. In 1992 she joined her family to assist in the operation of a small ILEC in Hayneville, Alabama. Since that time the business has grown to two counties serving over 4500 customers with local, long distance, internet, security, wireless and IPTV video services. With over 27 years of experience in the rural Alabama market, Evelyn is committed to seeing rural communities not only survive, but thrive.
Evelyn, along with her husband Mark, reside in Greenville. They have two grown and married sons: Cory and wife, Laura; Matt and wife, Wynn; daughter, Jess; and three grandchildren: Powell, Amelia and Reese. Evelyn attends First United Methodist Church. She currently serves on the Butler County Commission of Economic Development, Lowndes County Commission of Economic Development, LBW Junior College Foundation Board Member, and Director/VP of the Telecommunications Association of the South East. Evelyn enjoys serving the citizens of our community through volunteer opportunities, as well as corporate ones. She recently founded The Caring Ball a non-profit youth fundraising event to support local charities.
